Participate in a build day in a big way by enriching the volunteer experience of everyone present by coordinating the non-construction part of the build. You may aid the volunteer sign-in process, help to serve lunch, serve as liaison between construction staff and volunteers, ensure volunteer safety and talk to volunteers about Habitat.

To take a leadership role as a team leader or become a team member, you may assist with out 30 new Volunteer Teams that assists with Construction-related, Habitat Affiliate Operations-related, Event-related and Restore-related efforts. Please send your resume or email about the different teams. Non-paid Internships and Academic Service Learning projects are acceptable.

Help bring beauty back to Oakland County through landscaping and gardening. You may assist our construction team in landscaping newly built and rehabbed homes and participate in neighborhood clean-up projects.
Restore Selling & Stocking: Alesha Allen (x226), [ email ]
Volunteer your time in Habitat’s ReStore, which provides new and slightly used furniture, fixtures, and building materials at a greatly reduced cost. This volunteer work would include floor organization, preparing merchandise, assisting customers, etc.

Assist with various tasks needed to be done around Habitat’s office to keep things in order. Such tasks may include light clerical duties, such as inputting computer data, creating thank you letters, answering our telephones and being the first face of Habitat.
Advocacy & Speakers’ Bureaus: Alesha Allen (x226), [ email ]
Advocate for Habitat by volunteering to spread the mission of Habitat to faith-based and civic organizations across Oakland County. As an ambassador you will present our mission so that more people are inspired to work for the realization of Habitat’s vision to eliminate inadequate housing.

Youth ages 5-25 assist with various building, landscaping and fund raising projects to support Habitat for Humanity's mission and families. We form chapters a local schools, churches and other community organizations to help get youth involved in the community and with fellow peers their age. They learn responsibility, how to complete projects and how to work alongside people of all different backgrounds, beliefs, religions, and personalities.

Help Habitat serve our partnered families before and after home purchase by volunteering on this committee. With a few hours of commitment a week, you can assist with family selection and mentoring.
Gulf Coast Recovery Program: Mark Brown [ email ]
Help rebuild the Gulf Coast. Three years after the disastrous hurricanes hit the Gulf Coast, recovery efforts are still greatly needed. Volunteer to build a home in a week or help make a difference through fundraising.
Habitat’s Global Village Program: Sally LePla (x223), [ email ]
Build with Global Village. Habitat’s Global Village trips give participants a unique opportunity to become active partners with people of another culture. Team members work alongside members of the host community raising awareness of the burden of poverty housing and building decent, affordable housing worldwide.
