International Women Build Week Virtual Celebration
March 12 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am
Virtually celebrate International Women Build Week with us! Join the local Women Build Team on March 12, 2021 at 9:00 am for the celebration on Zoom.
Habitat for Humanity’s International Women Build Week is an annual event created in partnership with Lowe’s. The event calls on women across the globe to raise a hammer to spotlight the need for safe and affordable housing and provides the tools to empower women and educate them on skills used when repairing and restoring homes.
While there is no substitute to actually swinging a hammer, we are excited for you to participate through a virtual event this year during International Women Build Week. This year’s event will celebrate International Women’s Day on March 12, 2021.
The virtual event will include testimonials from female volunteers that have actively engaged with Habitat Oakland in 2020 and 2021, a tour of the current Habitat Oakland Women Build project, and inspiring stories from Habitat homeowners.
Lowe’s and Habitat for Humanity have a proud history of providing opportunities for women in construction and home improvement. International Women Build Week is built on a foundation of strength, resilience and perseverance. Along with more than 300 Habitat for Humanity affiliates in the United States, Canada and India, Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County was awarded a grant to support our efforts of building and improving homes for women and their families.
