GivingTuesday’s message of hope, connection and community has never been more needed – the COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the housing crisis we’ve been fighting since our inception.

Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County is ready to build back – build security and stability, reconnect communities, create hope – but we need your help.

When you donate through our GivingTuesday campaign, your gift will be matched by Henniges Automotive. That means you will be doubling your impact – a $50 donation will actually be $100 toward ensuring everyone in Oakland County can know the strength, stability and self-reliance decent and affordable shelter provides. Donate by scanning the QR code below or texting the word “give” to 855-933-4850 and double your contribution today! Gifts made before or on December 1 using the methods below will be matched.

It is the power of people like you that transforms communities.

At Habitat Oakland, we are known for building homes, but homes are so much more than just four walls and a roof. Decent, affordable housing is the foundation for strength, stability and self-reliance for individuals and families. Homeowners in Habitat homes help build communities, because when a home is safe, stable and affordable, individuals and families can stop moving frequently and put down roots in their community. Putting down roots and investing in communities helps entire neighborhoods grow and become safer for everyone.

Ensuring homeowners are able to maintain a safe, decent and affordable place to live helps to foster neighborhood and community stability. We have two programs that focus on neighborhood revitalization and offer exterior home repairs to homeowners who are in need and unable to perform repairs independently.

Bringing together homeowners, volunteers, community sponsors and Habitat Oakland County staff, Rock the Block is a two-day event, offering minor exterior home repairs to homeowners at a modest price. This program ensures that homeowners reside in safe housing, enables seniors to age-in-place, maintains and increases home values, and fosters neighborhood stability.

Roofs, Ramps and Repairs is a critical home repair and home preservation program that provides needed exterior repairs for homeowners in Oakland County so that they may maintain a safe, decent and affordable place to live. Focusing on safety, security and accessibility, weatherization, and keeping houses up to building codes, Roofs, Ramps and Repairs is designed to provide a hand-up to low-income homeowners who are in need and unable to perform repairs independently.
