Our neighbors and our communities have been hit hard by the economic shocks of COVID-19.
Families need us to help them build back. Families already struggling before the public health crisis began. Families newly struggling with financial instability and uncertainty.
With your support, Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County stands ready to stand alongside these families — and not just stand, but build. Build security and stability. Reconnect communities. Create hope.
For 25 years, Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County has brought people together to build homes, communities and hope. We are needed now more than ever, and — now more than ever — we need you. You can help take action on the housing crisis in our community – because everyone deserves to know the power of a safe and stable home.
The COVID-19 pandemic has proven that a home is so much more than just four walls and a roof. Many of our neighbors in Oakland County live in spaces that shelter, but are not safe, comfortable or affordable.
Due to a shortage of affordable and available housing, many lower-income households spend more on rent than they can afford — often sacrificing health care, food and other basic necessities.
As a result, our virtual fall gala will focus on The Power of a Home. EVERYONE IS INVITED AND ADMISSION IS FREE. RSVP today for our 8th annual fall gala on November 12 at 7:00 pm.
As the significant economic impacts of COVID-19 continue to unfold, the number of families struggling to make ends meet is only growing. That means that even more families are denied the personal and economic stability that safe, decent and affordable housing provides. Instead, more and more families are forced to make impossible choices.
When the cost of home is your family’s future, the cost is too high. When the cost of home is any family’s future, that’s something none of us can afford.
Join Habitat in making housing affordability a priority in this year’s elections. Through Cost of Home, we are calling on candidates at all levels of government to develop housing plans and educating voters that their vote matters to further our goal of improving home affordability for families and communities across the U.S.
We thank you for your continued support of our vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
