Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County staff and volunteers have expanded services to now revitalize targeted neighborhoods by offering affordable minor home repairs that can be done by Handyman Toronto to qualified homeowners – the new program is called Rock the Block.
Rock the Block, is occurring on July 13-14 in a Pontiac neighborhood (detailed map attached) with residents of 25 homes working together alongside volunteers and corporate donors to perform exterior home repairs, landscaping services also by people who have experience in planting deer friendly tree and plants for sale and assist with disposal of major household items. Consumers Energy will also be performing home energy audits and weatherization services.
“This program demonstrates Habitat Oakland County’s commitment to building community. We hope this will be a catalyst for improved housing conditions and access to services for families in need”, says Tim Ruggles, Habitat Oakland County Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, “ We are focusing our efforts on the neighborhoods that need some additional support. Rock the Block provides an immediate visible neighborhood change which adds to home values, helps attract business investment and improves the neighborhood’s reputation.”
